Sarah Engels suddenly appears to have changed a lot.
In a video that her husband Julian shares on Instagram, the DSDS participant is hardly recognizable.
Did she undergo cosmetic surgery?
Cologne – It's been ten years since Sarah Engels (30) was in the final of "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" and enchanted the TV audience with her voice.
Although her current ex-husband Pietro Lombardi (30) climbed the podium after a thrilling voice duel, her career really picked up speed after the end of the broadcast.
At the latest, her triumph with "The Masked Singer" should have finally convinced most of her musical abilities, but the native of Cologne regularly makes headlines about her private life.
"My pretty darling": Sarah Engels appears on Instagram in a very different way
Sarah Engels now has 1.8 million Instagram followers – a remarkable achievement.
The TV-savvy singer regularly gives her loyal followers personal snapshots and photographic insights into her colorful and stressful everyday life.
Above all, she documents her adventures with her loved ones – husband Julian (29) and the offspring Alessio (7) and Solea (11 months) – down to the smallest detail and lets fans get as close to her life as few other celebrities.
Not everyone can understand some of Sarah Engels' decisions, such as answering children's questions in the Netzbody, but her social media combination of personal and staged is well received.
Sarah Engels fans know her as an all-natural beauty.
So it's all the more surprising that the former DSDS finalist on Instagram suddenly looks like she's had cosmetic surgery.
If the videos that Sara Engels shares on the image platform are mostly about advertising deals, family outings or behind-the-scenes glimpses of their various TV appearances, the interpreter of "Don't Give Up" suddenly appears to have changed a lot.
A video that Julian shared in his Instagram story shows Sarah in a white turtleneck sweater at the dining table next to daughter Solea – but her face is hardly recognizable.
Her lips look a lot bigger, her cheeks stand out clearly and everything shines unnaturally.
"My pretty darling," her husband writes with a laugh under the photo, which almost looks as if Sarah had put herself under the knife for cosmetic surgery.
The very first celebrity post on Instagram
Since the image platform appeared in the app stores on October 6, 2010, Instagram has become a real phenomenon.
The paradise for photography, fashion and culinary magic has more than two quadrillion active users today - including most of the stars.
The first celebrity to post on the social media app with the purple and yellow logo was American rapper Snoop Dogg.
On January 11, 2011, he wrote "Bossin up wit dat blast" under a photo in a suit - and with it he went down in history.
"Bitter aftertaste": Julian picks up Sarah Engels on Instagram
But if you look closely, you'll notice right away: Sarah Engels hasn't had any cosmetic surgery.
Because the grotesque new face is simply a very detailed Instagram filter that turns every visage into a beauty mishap.
"You look really good," Julian teases his beloved, "You're happy about compliments, aren't you?" She is busy feeding Solea and of course doesn't notice the prank at first.
"No, because that always has some bitter aftertaste," she finally says and apparently suspects that Julian is filming more than a cute family video, "What do you want from me?"

What exactly Julian did to her face with the help of filter magic only becomes clear to Sarah Engels when the hilarious clip goes out to the couple's fans.
"Bad, really bad," she comments visibly amused in her own Instagram story and swears: "You'll get it back!" What loves is just teasing.
Even if Sarah Engels didn't let herself be doctored - in the celebrity world people like to help out cosmetically.
This is how “Goodbye Germany” star Caro Robens listed her many cosmetic surgeries.
