Damage in the millions: Agricultural warehouse in Dankelsried burned down

Erkheim/Dankelsried – On Saturday (November 26th, 2022) numerous Lower Allgäu fire brigades were called to a large-scale operation in Dankelsried.
In the Erkheim district, an agricultural warehouse with an adjacent stable caught fire.
Four people were injured and there was property damage in the millions.
In the early hours of the morning (around 2 a.m.) there was a large-scale operation for the Erkheim, Benningen, Sontheim, Schlegelsberg, Daxberg, Arlesried, Günz ad Günz, Oberrieden, Mindelheim, Memmingen and Ottobeuren fire brigades.
An agricultural warehouse with an adjoining stable caught fire in the Erkheim district of Dankelsried for reasons that have not yet been clarified.
There were also a drone unit from the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW), four ambulances, an emergency doctor vehicle, a head of operations from the rescue service and an employee from the crisis intervention service (KID) to look after the residents affected by the fire.
The fire was extinguished by around 100 firefighters.

The fire brigade was able to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring buildings.
The property damage is estimated at around 2,500,000 euros.
During the evacuation of the animals, two people suffered minor injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment with smoke gas poisoning.
Two firefighters suffered minor injuries while fighting the fire.
The first on-site investigations were carried out by forces from the Mindelheim and Memmingen police stations and the Memmingen Criminal Investigation Service (KDD).
The further investigations are being conducted by the specialist commissariat of the Memmingen Criminal Police Inspectorate.
