Friedrich Merz behaves "highly embarrassing" when it comes to naturalization, young liberals think

The young liberals think that this is “extremely embarrassing”, especially in the case of Friedrich Merz.

Naturalization plans: Union politicians warn against "selling" German citizenship

, Faeser's plans envisage shortening the minimum length of stay for naturalization from eight to five years, and to three years in the case of special integration services.
Foreigners should no longer have to give up their old citizenship to become German.
This also applies to children of foreigners who have been legally living in Germany for at least eight years.
They should no longer have to decide on citizenship at the age of 23.
Previously applicable language level requirements are also to be lowered.
The plans of the traffic light coalition (SPD, Greens, FDP) triggered a debate.
Union politicians even warned against "selling" German citizenship and see the plans as "social explosives".
CDU leader Friedrich Merz said on Sunday, November 27, in the ARD: "German citizenship is something very valuable, and you have to be careful with it." immigration into the social systems is taking place.
But there is criticism not only from the opposition: Some of the FDP were also annoyed about the naturalization reform.
