After the long Corona break, people are more excited than ever for the Advent season - and Christmas markets.

You could also get this impression at the Puchheimer Sternderlmarkt.

Puchheim - The visitors were happy about a lot of homemade - and culinary specialties such as burgers and ginger white wine punch.

Glittering Advent wreaths, homemade jams, artistic figures made of towels or wooden salt and pepper shakers: At the 40 stalls of the Sternderlmarkt in the PUC cultural center in Puchheim, visitors will find a colorful selection of handicrafts.

“There is a great variety of homemade products here.

That's something very special," says Maria Rothbucher.

By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular

FFB newsletter.)

She sells colorful paper crafts.

Their repertoire ranges from small boxes to decorative stars and Christmas cards.

The Puchheim resident thinks the atmosphere is particularly nice this year.

"People missed such events in the Corona period."

A few meters away, Ariane Kohler admires a cat folded out of a towel.

A frog and an elephant are sitting next to it.

“What I particularly like here is that everything is made in-house,” she says.

She's hoping to find some more Christmas presents.

Baby clothes for son Florian have already found their way into her bag.

The market is well attended.

"It was really full on Saturday," says Jutta King from the organization team.

She believes that the many hands-on activities will also attract Puchheimers.

For children there is a drawing table and a tree on which they can hang their wishes.

Santa Claus was visiting.

Adults can take part in a joint Advent singing.

In front of the Puchheim cultural center, the evangelical church takes care of the catering for the visitors.

Goulash soup by the campfire

Christine Görn and Flo Aberger are sitting around the campfire with Timon the dog and eating goulash soup.

“We come from Munich.

It doesn't exist in this form there, it's so small and cosy," says Görn.

There is no time to take a breather at the big Christmas markets.

"You have to rush from A to B because the crowd pushes you along."

Manfred and Elisabeth Wolf cycled from Geiselbullach to Puchheim especially because of the burgers that are available at a stand.

"They were recommended to us and were really good," says Manfred Wolf.

He also raves about the ginger and white wine punch, which he has already tasted.

They would have listened to the performance of the Puchheim music school, but: "We are mainly responsible for the culinary things," he says with a laugh.

Smugglers stopped on the highway

Rolf Scheiber also expressly praises the food on offer: "There's everything here: good drinks, hearty and sweet things," he says.

The Puchheimer stopped by because of his son, who helps out at the church stalls.

"When you stroll through the market, you know that the Advent season has begun - even if there is still no snow."
