The municipality of Poing has a new illustrated book: Photographs of 31 citizens are immortalized on 60 double pages.

A total of 76 pictures, over 400 were submitted.

Poing - In a limited edition of 500 copies (each copy individually numbered), the municipality of Poing has published the book "An illustrated book by Poingers for Poingers" for the Advent season.

The most diverse aspects of the community are shown on 60 double pages.

Photographed by citizens, as Mayor Thomas Stark emphasized at the presentation.

Poing: Photographs were taken during the Corona period

During the Corona period, the idea arose to create an illustrated book and to ask citizens to participate.

Many recordings were made during walks or bike rides through the community.

"Often with unusual perspectives in focus and an artistic accent," writes Stark in the foreword.

(By the way: everything from the region is also available in our regular Ebersberg newsletter.)

56 citizens had submitted a total of 413 pictures, reports the mayor and emphasizes that "the work is not commissioned".

The focus is on people's view of their place.

A jury from the town hall chose 76 of the 413 pictures for the illustrated book.

Photographed by 31 citizens whose names are mentioned in the book.

Illustrated book in the bookstore

The illustrated book Poing is available in the bookshop in the City Center.

Price: 29.80 euros

The illustrated book is divided into four chapters: "Impressions of our landscape", "Modern development", "We love tradition" and "Poing worth living in".

You can see, for example, the "Poing" sculpture on the roundabout by the OMV filling station in the evening light and an aerial view of Poing-Nord at winter sunrise.

"The photo book by and for people who are interested and committed to our community is something special," writes Mayor Thomas Stark in the foreword.

Each copy is individually numbered

He gave copy number 1 to Helmut Ganslmaier, Stark revealed at the presentation at the bookstore in the City Center.

As recognition and thanks for Ganslmaier's decades of commitment to the community - he is one of the idea generators for the historic cultural route in Poing and has carried out the surprise trips for Poinger senior citizens for 20 years.

The photo book (each price: 29.80 euros) was published by VLG Verlag Haar, which also published the photo book for the district of Ebersberg, as Managing Director Julia Straßer-Garnies reports.
