Despite the tense budget situation, the district's social advisory board has not cut the subsidy budget.

However, there were discussions about the application for the emergency hotline for women and girls.

District

– In view of the difficult budgetary situation, the district actually wants to hold back on voluntary spending.

So it was by no means certain whether the members of the Round Table would not also cut back on donations to voluntary welfare organizations and other organizations active in the social sector.

As Astrid Achterberg from the social affairs department at the district office now reported in the social advisory board, the beneficiaries can breathe a sigh of relief for the time being.

As in the two previous years, 87.4 percent of the total application volume will also be paid out for 2023.

Fewer applications, higher sums

Twelve applications were received this time, two fewer than for 2022, said Achterberg.

The total amount applied for is 347,300 euros (previous year: 392,500 euros).

The support group for dementia of the BRK and the day care of people suffering from dementia of the Diakonieverein Tegernseer Tal did not ask for any donations this year.

What is new, however, is the language support for Ukraine refugees from the PIA support association with additional costs of 9,000 euros and the Rosenheim emergency hotline for women and girls.

The latter had planned an increase from ten to 30 hours per week for its Miesbach branch office in order to be able to better cope with the high volume of advice that has been significantly higher since Corona, explained Achterberg.

However, since this would involve an increase in funding of almost 30,000 euros and thus a significant budget overrun, the administration proposes limiting yourself to 20 hours per week and also linking the subsidy to the condition that all other funding options, for example by the Free State , have been exhausted.

But even that was too much for Eberhard Ziegler, chairman of the Diakonieverein Tegernseer Tal.

The Diakonie regularly places women in support offers without charging any costs.

Wolfgang Huber (SPD) wanted to know whether the women's emergency hotline had presented a balance sheet with a precise breakdown of income and expenditure.

"Then it would all be easier for us here."

Frauennotruf has rented rooms in Miesbach

District Administrator Olaf von Löwis (CSU) promised to invite the representatives to one of the next meetings.

Meanwhile, Achterberg assured that everything had been carefully considered.

Since Miesbach is only a branch office due to the size of the population, the Free State only pays 8,000 euros.

And this despite the fact that the women's emergency hotline has rented its own rooms in Miesbach.

Achterberg was also able to provide figures on the consultations.

From the start in March 2020 to today, 32 women have been advised in an average of six discussions each.

Furthermore, the women's emergency number is called in by the police in the event of domestic violence.

Comparative figures are difficult here, however, since criminal law has changed here, so that more offenses can be reported.

Martina Ettstaller (CSU) praised the offer.

The pandemic would literally explode the cases.

In this context, however, Ettstaller wondered why the working group for women's aid, which was also mentioned in the list of donations, had only applied for a few hundred euros.

Waltraud Frank (Mental Health Control Network) clarified: On the one hand, the working group also feeds on donations from women's associations, on the other hand, the need for help has fallen significantly due to the new women's emergency hotline.

Since you only ever ask for half of your own funds as a grant, the sum is so small this year.

A full-time position at the district office would be more expensive

Meanwhile, Klaus Mrosczok (Catholic Church) made a plea for support of the women's emergency hotline.

The requested amount is still cheap for such a task.

"A full-time position at the district office would cost us significantly more," said Mrosczok.

It is also important to get the topic of domestic violence out of the "shame corner".

Betty Mehrer (Protestant Dean's Office) also campaigned for the women's emergency hotline.

This form of emergency cannot be caught elsewhere, especially since the number of unreported cases is high.

"I am very happy about this service," emphasized Mehrer.

This also caught on with the skeptics in the committee, so that in the end the two resolutions were unanimous.

The total budget this year is 303,540 euros.

For comparison: in the previous year it was 312,100 euros.
