With the beginning of the staaden time, the carnival friends start the carnival season: Celine I. and Stefan II. were presented at a gala ball as the official royal couple for Fürstenfeldbruck.

The motto for the carnival 2022/23 is "Viva los Muertos".

Celine Jahr has been dancing with the carnival friends since 2007 - and at the latest when she joined the adult guard the wish came: "I would like to be a princess." It is a dream that this has now come true.

The 23-year-old Brucker, who works as a preschool teacher in the city, had a long experience on the stage, but her excitement at being in the spotlight was contained.

Her Prince Stefan Bader is not a newcomer either.

But because he's only been in the business for four years, excitement is another thing for him.

"Performing with this group is always exciting," says the 26-year-old software developer from Puchheim.

But being right at the front is a different dimension.

"I'm excited," admitted Bader, hardly having taken the first really official steps as a prince in front of an audience.

At the latest after the handover of the insignia by Angelina I. and Thomas II., who had held the regency over the carnival for three years due to the corona, all excitement had evaporated.

Then it was the turn of the show dance groups.

Because they have also been focusing on acrobatics for some time, it helps the adults from "Elements of Dance" that there are nine men in addition to the 14 women.

This makes lifting and throwing possible.

A good choreography by the trainer Tanja Kuschil, coupled with the joy of being able to perform again, immediately sparked the audience.

Again and again there was applause for the performance.

The junior group “Children of Dance” trained by Alexandra Pointner and supervised by Sabine Hammer did the same.

The enthusiasm and happiness of the young dancers was contagious.

The "Boyz", who then performed after midnight, completed the well-laced show package of the carnival friends.

Nevertheless, President Karlheinz Graff had concerns.

At the end of September, in the middle of planning the gala ball, he learned that due to a lack of catering staff, only self-service was possible.

He saw the catering more as an emergency solution.

"Leberkäs and gala ball, that doesn't go together for me." In addition, the hall rent had been increased by ten percent.

"We were fortunate to have sold all 435 tickets," said Graff.

He was disappointed that neither Lord Mayor Erich Raff, who had pointed out the 40th season of the carnival friends in the program, nor one of his deputies appeared.

"We invited everyone personally," Graff said when asked.

City council member Georg Stockinger therefore took on the part of handing over the keys to the town hall.
