Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Russia welcomes any mediation to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, but the Kyiv regime rejects that.
RIA Novosti quoted Peskov as saying in response to a question related to negotiations with Kyiv and the Vatican mediation: Moscow welcomes the intention of the Vatican to be a mediator between Moscow and Kiev. We know that a number of state leaders announce their willingness to offer their mediation. The situation that we have now is de facto and de jure. These proposals are not needed on the Ukrainian side.
On the other hand, Peskov denied the validity of the news and allegations that there are indications of Russia's intention to leave the city of Energodar and the Zaporozhye nuclear plant, stressing the impossibility of that happening.
Peskov said: There is no need to delve into these allegations because they do not exist, and cannot be.
