The symposium held by the Cultural Center in Abu Rummaneh focused on confronting the cultural invasion, the psychological methods and terminology used by the enemy in its attempt to distort the Arabic language, and to control the minds that have the ability to confront it.
A number of writers, critics, and media professionals participated in the symposium titled “Psychological War... Terminology as a Model,” which shed light on all the conspiracies facing Arab culture, with the aim of distorting it and offending its ancient heritage, and how to address what it is exposed to.
In his axis between the writer and media personality Anwar Raja, that the psychological war targeting the minds has been exposed to our Arab nation, especially since it has lost many elements of its cultural strength, pointing to the need to confront it by knowing the social and intellectual structure of the enemy.
Raja pointed to the entry of new cultures that include art and social interaction through modern electronic networks, instead of the old systems that include art and culture and the determination to expel the occupier and reject everything related to it, while Dr. Multiple, and the most important thing it aimed at was to distort the language and change it with destructive words and terminology, in an effort to destroy thought and social relations that constitute a social and national force, and that in a deliberate manner by fighting minds and souls to reach the destruction of values and beliefs that are considered one of the most important components of man.
Dr. Issa pointed out that this war also targeted the Arabic language and tried to replace it with new terms, and this increased since the beginning of the policy of Turkification and Western colonialism to encourage and develop regional languages that weaken the Arab people and make them accessible.
The journalist, Samer Al-Shughri, stated that psychological warfare is an American invention to control the minds of peoples without the use of military force, referring to what was caused by populism, which began with cultural sabotage and an attempt to distort the Arabic language 1400 years ago, citing Al-Jahiz’s warning against it, especially as it focused on reviving different dialects and drug use. To reach the obliteration of the Arab and cultural identity.
Al-Shughri indicated that populism was one of its most important goals to work on enumerating the dialects that are called poetic, to reach its important goal of eliminating the true poetic text.
Whereas, the poet and journalist Muhammad Khaled Al-Khidr, who moderated the symposium, introduced the participants and indicated the need to work to combat the new destructive terminology of Arab culture and to activate the cultural action that confronts populism and liberalism, especially at the present time when we need a cultural awareness that sees all that the enemy seeks.
The interventions made by writers and intellectuals during the symposium focused on confronting the terminology that the enemy uses and promotes because it contributes to spreading what it desires.
