It's a rather hectic back-to-school day for Jean Castex.
Several hundred agents gathered, at the call of the CGT, this Monday morning at the headquarters of the RATP in the 12th arrondissement of Paris to protest against the cancellation of a bonus of around 300 euros.
This Monday still marks the first day of the former Prime Minister, Jean Castex, as the new president of the Paris transport authority.

This event was already planned as part of a social movement that has been affecting maintenance at the RATP for 6 weeks now.
In detail, the strike has been held since October 18 in half a dozen RATP centers.
A trade union delegation is to be received soon by the management.
Compensation among the lowest in the group
The 3,000 agents of the MRF (Maintenance Réseau Ferré) department have some of the lowest salaries at the RATP.
A beginner receives barely more than the minimum wage.
“We denounce the abolition of this bonus while inflation is nearing 10%!
We want this bonus to be replaced by a salary increase, ”says Gabriel Muller Mallet, CGT delegate.

Train maintenance has been slowed down in recent weeks with a significant impact on RER traffic.
“This translates into short trains instead of long trains” explains Renaud Curtis, from the CGT, on the Sucy en Brie site.
Only half of the scheduled trains leave the workshops each day.

In parallel, the former Prime Minister, Jean Castex spoke this Monday in a message intended for the employees and collaborators of the group, underlining his "tremendous honor" to join "one of the most beautiful companies in the nation" .
“I begin my mission with a lot of humility but also determination and enthusiasm with the ambition of flying the colors of the RATP group high”, he assured.
