Russian experts from the University of "Scholtech" have succeeded in developing high-quality graphene structures for the electronics industry.

Russia Today reported that experts had registered a new patent related to devising a method for making new structures from graphene that could be used in the development of transparent flexible electronics.

Regarding the mechanism of the new method, the channel explained that it includes forming temporary molds made of graphene in the shape of the device or piece to be developed, then permanent molds made of other materials are placed on these molds, and when the temporary layers are removed, the electronic piece acquires its final shape.

Lecturer at the university, Sergey Abimov, stated that Russia has advanced technologies in the field of flexible and transparent electronics industry, and in recent years graphene has been used in many areas of the electronics industry, but the main problem was obtaining large sheets made of this material, free of defects or cracks, stressing The new patent will contribute effectively to the development of electronics, especially those made of components developed in Russia.

It is noteworthy that graphene is an allotrope of two-dimensional carbon with a hexagonal crystalline structure (also called honeycomb or chicken wire), and it is the thinnest material ever known so far, with a thickness equivalent to only one carbon atom. Copper conducts electricity and works efficiently, and it is the best conductor of heat at all. It is also so dense that it does not allow the smallest helium atom to pass through its hexagonal structure.
