He was traveling without a driver's license and wanted to run away from the police during a check: Now a 24-year-old Tölzer was in court.

Bad Tölz

– The public prosecutor attested the young man in the dock “a kind of predicament”.

The accused himself described it as a "totally stupid act" that he got behind the wheel of a company car on May 17 of this year.

The problem: he did so without having a valid driver's license.

Because it was only taken from him in February of this year.

"It doesn't get any more stupid," said the Tölzer in court.

The 24-year-old has to pay dearly for his self-attested stupidity.

He was fined 3150 euros by the district court for driving without a license.

A police patrol wanted to check the mechanic that Tuesday evening around 11 p.m.

When he noticed the police, he turned onto a side street and wanted to get out of the dust "quite quickly".

This plan failed.

When the police caught up with him, the driver initially said he had lost his driver's license and had not yet applied for a new one, an official said at the hearing.

However, his colleague knew the young man from his earlier drunken driving.

The defendant explained that he had lost his driver's license as a result, and that he had wanted to keep it a secret from his boss, explaining why he was driving the company car that evening.

After this action, he had to listen to a lot from his employer.

"He was pissed off because he had an ad on his neck afterwards," said the 24-year-old.

In such cases, the company owner is usually investigated for "ordering or permitting driving without a license".

However, this procedure has since been discontinued.

The Wolfratshausen judge Helmut Berger sentenced the accused to a fine of 45 daily rates of 70 euros each, as requested by the public prosecutor.
