The discussions of the twenty-sixth National Conference on Quality, held by the Syrian Scientific Society for Quality in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry, focused on the role of quality in supporting the national economy through quality management in the industrial sector, educational institutions, mechanisms for measuring and evaluating the needs of the labor market, and quality management in the banking industry sector.
During the opening of the conference organized by Tala Company for Organizing Exhibitions and Conferences with the support of a number of public and private companies and institutions, Minister of Industry Ziad Sabbagh stressed that the strong and developed industry depends on the development of activities related to assaying, calibration, specifications, tests, analyzes and quality, the application of modern quality management systems in force today in the world and the provision of Infrastructure supporting quality, to achieve product quality and remove technical obstacles that prevent it from entering foreign markets.
Minister Sabbagh pointed to the issuance of many laws and legislations that control the control of industrial goods and products, and these tasks were entrusted to several ministries to verify the quality of products and manufactured, imported and exported goods with the aim of protecting the consumer and his safety in the first place, stressing that this is not sufficient if there is no serious interest in Support and development of infrastructure related to measurement and calibration.
Minister Sabbagh expressed his hope that the participants in the conference would present new ideas and solutions to the problems of the current reality, while developing future perceptions and visions that would enable achieving development goals and securing the citizen's need, noting the role of the Syrian National Society for Quality and its efforts to support the economic sector in general and the industrial sector in particular.
For his part, Vice President of the Syrian Scientific Society for Quality, Muhammad Mazen Al-Hariri, stressed the importance of quality, which is the passport for any product or service in the regional and global markets, indicating that product conformity to specifications and quality standards is a key factor in supporting the national economy, and no product can be exported without conforming to regional specifications. And global.
He called for keeping up with the updates issued by the International Organization for Quality (ISO), which issues about 100 standards monthly, and has more than 24,000 specifications in all fields that must be followed, stressing the importance of the conference to spread the culture of quality, enhance its value, deal with it and adopt it, in addition to linking scientific knowledge with practical application and society. institutions and work flexibly in various sectors and bring together cadres and competencies.
In turn, the Director of Tala Conferences Organizing Company, Feras Baroud, confirmed that the establishment of this conference came with the aim of benefiting from the expertise and experiences of the participants in the field of quality, whose systems have become a necessary approach and basis for any institution looking for success and achieving competitiveness at the internal and external levels, which reflects positively on the national economy. It contributes to achieving the desired economic development.
For his part, Mazen Kneinah, Assistant Executive Director of Abdul Karim Group, the strategic supporter of the conference, pointed out the great need at the present time for qualified administrative cadres, calling for supporting the administrative sector of companies to achieve the best product at the lowest cost, which reflects positively on the national economy.
Omar Hindi, Director of Operations at Ebdaa Bank for Microfinance, pointed out the importance of the link between service quality and social responsibility, and banks achieving this responsibility by linking it with the profit side and contributing to achieving sustainable development goals to secure job opportunities and finding alternatives to energy use.
In his turn, Dr. Muhammad Okal from the Development Group stressed the importance of maintaining the quality of various products and services, empowering the national industry with high quality, the least resources, the best profitability, and achieving sustainable development.
