A plainclothes detective of the Tai Po Police District Crime Squad was arrested for secretly filming two women in Tai Po District twice in one day. He has been charged with two crimes.
The incident happened on May 31 this year. The police received a report at 5:41 pm that a man suspected of secretly photographing a 33-year-old woman with a mobile phone on Ampang Road.
After officers arrived at the scene for investigation, a man surnamed Ng (52 years old) was arrested on suspicion of loitering. He was found to be a plainclothes detective of the Crime Squad of the Tai Po Police District, and he was suspected of committing the crime while on duty.
The case was handed over to the first team of the New Territories North Regional Crime Squad to take over the investigation. It was further discovered that Wu had secretly photographed another 38-year-old woman with his mobile phone on An Po Road at about 11 am on the same day.
The arrested man has been charged with one count of loitering and one count of public decency. The case will be brought up in Fanling Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (November 29).
The arrested man, a police officer, has been suspended, police said.
