As-Suwayda - SANA

The center of the 7th of April hall in the city of As-Suwayda continues to receive applications for those wishing to settle their status, including wanted civilians, fugitives, and those who failed to complete the compulsory and reserve services.

The head of the committee concerned with the settlement procedures in the center, the assistant police commander in As-Suwayda, Brigadier General Yasser Khuzam, explained to SANA reporter that dozens visit the center daily to settle their situation, in addition to many families to inquire about the situation of their children and relatives and how to deal with it, stressing that all the necessary facilities are provided to them, and answering their questions. Their inquiries based on the amnesty decrees issued by President Bashar al-Assad for the current year, which include deserters, those who failed to enroll in the compulsory and reserve services, and civilian citizens who are wanted by any party, with the exception of those against whom there are personal allegations.

Brigadier General Khuzam indicated that the number of those who took the initiative to settle their situation exceeded 4,500 people since the opening of the center, as the concerned authorities are keen to simplify and facilitate procedures while granting a large number of them settlement cards to facilitate their affairs, pending their ability to review their recruitment departments, their units, or the judicial authorities to follow up on processing their situation.

A number of young men who were present today in the Settlement Center noted the cooperation of all concerned authorities and the easy and quick procedures to complete their requests, calling on others to seize the opportunity to address and settle their situation under the auspices of state institutions and the law.

The young man, Salman Makarem, indicated that he took the initiative to address his situation, and the procedures were easy and fast, which was also confirmed by the young man, Maher Al-Rahel, who had submitted his request a few days ago and came today to receive the settlement card, provided that he reviews his recruitment department soon to join the compulsory service and perform his national duty, while the young man found Ibrahim Al-Ahmad, with the cooperation of the concerned authorities, because he was outside Syria and lost his papers and enlistment book, and his status was settled due to his delay in joining the compulsory service as a result.

The concerned authorities had opened a settlement center in As-Suwayda Governorate on the sixth of last October, and called on those wishing to settle their situation to go to the center, bringing with them two personal photos, a copy of the personal identity, or a civil registration extract.
