Today (Monday), the attorney's office filed indictments against four defendants accused of harassing state witness Nir Hefetz and the prosecution committee Hadas Klein, in the ongoing trial against former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

According to the indictments, the defendants harassed the witnesses on social media.

"The postings on social networks have escalated into harassment of the prosecution's witnesses regarding the messages they gave in their police investigations, and regarding the testimonies they gave or were about to give in court," it said.

The first defendant is Herzl Golan, 69 years old from Tel Aviv.

According to the indictment, from the day Hefetz began giving his testimony in court, he published several tweets against the state's witness, including: "Trusting him is like trusting the Nazis who exterminated millions of Jews," and "On the day of your death we will celebrate."

In addition, Golan is accused of publishing photos of the state witness with the caption "You will die."

The second indictment was filed against Shmuel Tal, 21 years old, who sent a personal message on Facebook to the state witness the day after he began his testimony in court.

The two additional indictments were filed for the harassment of Hadas Klein.

One indictment was filed against Shalom Ezard, 73 years old from Rosh Ha'Ain.

According to the indictment, during Klein's testimony, Ezard published tweets on his Twitter account such as: "You scumbag, corrupt, evil witch, liar, cheater, racist. Lies have legs, scumbag Hades Klein. Your day is over, evil police agent, you are finished." .

To these things were added blasphemies and insults towards her.

Also, another indictment was filed against Shimon Atias, 58 years old from Karmiel, who even before Klein's testimony, published statements against her on Twitter, and among other things wished for her death, and spread a rumor that she was suffering from a terminal illness.

Last December, the investigation of Hefetz, who was Netanyahu's media advisor, ended.

"It's hard for me to put into words how difficult it was," Chafetz said at the time after 17 days of interrogation.

"I feel relieved, it is not easy to stand in front of a barrage of lawyers. Standing in front of Netanyahu was as difficult as tearing the Red Sea, but I tried to look into the eyes of the judges and those who interrogated me, and to be close to the truth."
