Rabbi Pinto (PR)
If we stop the noise of life for a moment and look at our inner world and try to understand what is the difference between a feeling that is "pleasure" and a feeling that is "transcendence", do they have the same root or are they two opposites?
The Rebbe Rabbi Yosiah Pinto explained in his lesson that all pleasure in the world comes at the expense of someone or something. A person eats ice cream - it comes at the expense of his health. Someone or something.
But the "ascension" does not come at the expense of anyone, and why? Because the ascension is in the person himself and he only has to open his eyes and see for himself the special point in him and his way to ascend and climb up.
Therefore, the ascension is in spiritual things, in doing kindness and good to others and in existence The mitzvot, because they raise the person up without it harming anyone else, and on the contrary, when the person rises - he raises the whole world together with him.
