Writer George Sibat signs the novel “450 AD” at the National Book House in Aleppo

Writer George Sibat signed his novel “450 AD” this evening during a ceremony organized by the Directorate of Culture in Aleppo as part of a book fair in the reading hall of the National Library in Aleppo.

Writer Sibat pointed out in a statement to SANA reporter that the novel is 220 pages long and consists of 11 chapters with different titles.

Regarding the novel, he said: The novel monitors the social life of a group of Syrians in a village near the Orontes River in the fifth century AD, and includes a mythical and fantasy axis of historical, political and social events.

He pointed out that the novel as a whole depicts ancient events, but its effects extend to simulate the reality in which we live in its various crises, to carry an invitation to return to the absolute values ​​of the ancestors after they were distorted by crises.

Jaber al-Sajour, Director of Culture in Aleppo, stressed the importance of book signing ceremonies, as they contribute to encouraging writers to print more of their literary productions and the continuation of intellectual and literary production.

Al-Sajour added: The ceremony was held as part of a book fair, and it is the first of its kind and came as a result of cooperation between the Ministry of Culture, the Syrian General Authority for Books and private publishing houses. Official government and local civil society to support the creative and cultural movement in Aleppo.
