The Ardinger Adventsingen has been around for 50 years.

It has lost none of its appeal.

The anniversary concert in the parish church of Erding was very well attended.

Erding – While there was a lot of hustle and bustle outside at the Christmas market on the first Sunday in Advent, the Ardinger Advent in the parish church of St. John was a gift of contemplative pause.

The church was full when district folk music curator Reinhard Loechle spoke and looked back on the 50 years of this traditional event in a short speech.

Loechle, himself a thoroughbred musician and former director of the district music school in Erding, launched the Ardinger Advent in 1972 and organized it for over 30 years.

As a man from the very beginning, he welcomed a companion: Prelate Josef Mundigl took part in the atmospheric Advent concert.

With regard to the charity idea, Loechle emphasized that the Ardinger Advent has remained true to its intention to this day and has not become commercialized.

Countless vocal and instrumental groups have performed over the years.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary, top-class folk music groups and the St. John's Church Choir with its director Georg Rothenaicher delighted the many visitors.

By candlelight and with sages from the foothills of the Alps, you immersed yourself in the Bible story of Jesus' birth.

The Johannesbläser players sent their sonorous sounds into the room.

The interesting arrangements of the ensemble made people sit up and take notice.

With beautiful voices that sounded harmoniously together, the Ardinger Dirndl Dreigsang announced "Advent is a Leichtn", and the choir let the star of Bethlehem shine in the sky in many voices.

Smooth sounds could be heard from the Haindl violin music - slow-paced, inwardly happy and musical.

The Walpertskirchner Festtagsmusi also set festive highlights.

Down-to-earth male singing could be heard from the Westach singers, who told of Maria's hike across the mountains.

The Weinberg Zithermusi also enriched the program with their pieces.

In the end, all participants and the attentive audience found themselves singing together.

The music created a nice togetherness before they parted again.

The Pfarrcäcilienverein Erding was happy about the numerous visitors.

The net proceeds from the charity event will benefit the St. Nikolaus School in Erding and the Sophienhospice.

After the concert in the church, Loechle and Rothenaicher were honored, both of whom have been involved in Arding Advent singing for decades.
