Assem announced this evening (Tuesday) the presence of salmonella in "Zabar" chickpeas, in products with an expiration date of December 26, 2022. According to the company, the source of the problem was one of the raw materials used to manufacture the product.
She also said that as part of a new precaution, the company decided to collect the products from those production lines, in coordination with the food service at the Ministry of Health.
The company asked not to consume these products.
The salmonella bacterium can cause intestinal disease in healthy people, manifested by fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
For sensitive populations, the bacterium can cause serious illness.
