Due to the "need to provide an urgent response to the kibbutz's elderly", residents of a geriatric institution in the kibbutz, who are not residents, will be required to move. According to the kibbutz management, the change was made following the termination of a contract. "We are aware of the difficulty and pain of the tenants and families. We will assist them if necessary"

The old people's home in Kibbutz Mishmar Hasharon is expected to evacuate nursing elderly people who live there, following the Kibbutz's requirement.

"The reason for the change is the need to provide an urgent response to the kibbutz seniors," explained the kibbutz.

Limor (pseudonym), whose parents are both nursing on wheelchairs and live in an institution, said in a conversation with Walla that "my parents spent a year there, they told us that when the contract ends we should be evicted. Why? Because the population in the kibbutz is aging."

"If you knew this was the case a year ago, why did you let us in?" Limor said.

"The move itself will be really difficult, we're all in shock. It doesn't make sense to evacuate nursing elderly people after a year, something is wrong there. My father is 93, but they weren't ready to listen. It seems unfair to me. They gave us a month's notice to look for another place, as if It's an apartment. We're lost. It's not easy to besiege a place that's so small and contained. It's not a student contract, but helpless people, it doesn't make sense to evacuate and throw them away."

"We understand the difficulty, and thank you for the pleasant conversation. As we mentioned at the meeting, we will do our best to help find an alternative place and will be flexible if you need a few more days to get organized," the nursing home wrote to the family members who are required to vacate the place.

"We sincerely wish Simcha and Yosef good health and longevity."

"The need to improve the conditions of the kibbutz's elderly arose after a professional inspection that we ordered, according to which it is necessary to adjust

the needs and provide additional services to the elderly, who are in their ninth and tenth decades of life," said the kibbutz.

"We held personal meetings with two of the families with whom the contract is about to end, where we talked and said that unfortunately we will not be able to renew the contract with them. The contract is annual and renews automatically, unless one of the parties informs otherwise. At the same time, we told the families that they are not required to contact us immediately upon contract termination.

"We are aware of the difficulty and pain of the tenants and families, so it was important for us to inform them in a personal conversation as soon as possible, share the reason, and assist them if necessary. We have great empathy for the tenants and families who will be forced to leave, it hurts us too. But the health and well-being of the kibbutz seniors is It is our responsibility, and it is important for us to allow them the proper conditions. Many family and nursing homes change their nature over time, according to needs and constraints such as regulation, the needs of the members, personnel."
