An unknown group of perpetrators blew up an ATM in Anzing (Ebersberg district) and fled.

The police are looking for witnesses.

Update 9.25 a.m .:

As the LKA reports to the

German Press Agency

, the automatic sprinkler case in Anzing is the 33rd case this year in Bavaria.

In Bavaria, the number of ATM demolitions has skyrocketed this year.

In 2021 there were 17 in the whole year, in 2020 there were 24. Bavaria's Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann (CSU) therefore wants to increase the pressure on the international criminal groups.

In addition, according to the will of the conference of interior ministers, the operators of ATMs should in future be obliged to protect their cash holdings from being blown up.

As reported by the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office on its Facebook page, the explosion happened around 3 a.m. in Mühldorfer Strasse 2. There is a self-service branch of the Sparkasse, where customers can only take advantage of vending machine services.

The perpetrators then fled in a dark car, presumably in the direction of the nearby A94 motorway, the officials said.
