Florian Silbereisen's "Schlagerchampions" inspire millions every year.

However, the show threatens to be canceled in 2023.

Instead, Jürgen Drews' TV farewell is coming up.

Leipzig – As the nickname "The Big Festival of the Best" clearly shows, Florian Silbereisen's (41) "Schlagerchampions" show the most well-known industry greats on the stage year after year.

Traditionally, the show runs in the first half of January – but everything is different in 2023: instead of the TV event with a number of hit stars, the TV farewell of cult entertainer Jürgen Drews (77) is on January 14, 2023.

Jürgen Drews gets his own farewell show – no "Schlagerchampions" with Florian Silbereisen?

Helene Fischer (38), Roland Kaiser (70), Andrea Berg (56) – the list of stars who regularly appear on Florian Silbereisen's "Schlagerchampions" is as long as it is prominent.

At the beginning of 2023, however, a different singer should be the focus this time: Jürgen Drews, the king of Mallorca, is letting his career end for the last time.

The hit star, who suffers from the nervous disease polyneuropathy, announced in the summer that he would not only step down in the future, but also want to withdraw completely.

In October, the 77-year-old made a guest appearance on "The Great Hit Jubilee 2022", where Florian Silbereisen celebrated his 100th hit show.

Now the 41-year-old is doing a farewell show for the "Ein Bett im Kornfeld" singer.

Jürgen Drews suffers from polyneuropathy – but what is that anyway?

Polyneuropathy is a group of diseases that affect the peripheral nervous system, i.e. the nerves outside the brain and spinal cord.

How the disease manifests itself depends on which nerves are affected: for example, abnormal sensations, tingling, pain or numbness in the arms and legs can occur, as well as muscle weakness and cramps as well as paralysis.

Likewise, no uniform statement can be made regarding the severity of the disease: symptoms can be mild (grade 1), but can also be life-threatening (grade 4).

A cure is usually not possible, but the progression of the disease can be slowed down.

Florian Silbereisen honors Jürgen Drews – "The big hit farewell" instead of "hit champions"

"For the very last time: The big hit farewell" will run on January 14, 2023 at 8:15 p.m. on the first and thus to a certain extent replaces the "Schlagerchampions", whose regular slot is otherwise also set to this period.

Instead, Florian Silbereisen gives an extensive review of Jürgen Drews' impressive career.

Too bad: The show will not take place live this time either, it was apparently pre-recorded.

Roland Kaiser and Mickie Krause (52) should appear as guests.

Jürgen Drews has already given his official stage farewell: On October 6, 2022, the hit star gave his last concert at the Music Autumn in the Wilder Kaiser.

While the world of hits has to say goodbye to one of its best-known greats, another celebrity in the industry is apparently aiming for a new career path: Stefan Mross (47) is said to be part of RTLZWEI in a trash TV format in 2023.
