With choral concerts, musicians' get-togethers, a digital advent calendar and a Christmas concert, the Wolfratshausen music school sets the tone for the festive season.

Wolfratshausen – What better way to get in the mood for Christmas than with music?

The municipal music school in Wolfratshausen offers a series of festive concerts and a ringing advent calendar.

A highlight in the calendar of events is the "Big Choir Concert" in the Loisachhalle on the second Sunday in Advent, December 4th, at 7.30 p.m. - a joint project with the Dachau Liedertafel under the direction of Emanuel Schmidt.

The participants are the Liedertafel choir vocal ampArt, the chamber and youth chamber choir Wolfratshausen, the soloists Irina Firouzi (soprano), Carolin Ritter (alto), Jonas Häusler (tenor) and Lukas Mayr (bass) as well as a chamber orchestra with teachers from the music school.

Two cantatas by Johann Sebastian Bach and choral works by Samuel Scheidt and Eric Whitacre can be heard.

The “Small Christmas Concert” will follow on Thursday, December 8th at 7 p.m. in the Evangelical Church.

In the contemplative atmosphere of St. Michael, various ensembles and soloists offer "the perfect attunement to the 'Staade' time",

like the music school.

The "Big Christmas Concert" will then take place on Thursday, December 15, in the Loisachhalle.

From 7 p.m. the string orchestra of the music school, several choir groups and the big band will play.

Musikantenstammtisch welcomes guests

A "Christmas Musicians' Round Table" is planned for Monday, December 19 at 7 p.m.

Heinrich Zapf invites his own groups and musicians to make music together at the music school.

Listeners are welcome, as is a small contribution to the buffet.

It's also worth taking a look at the music school's website.

From Tuesday, December 1st, a little door will open every day until Christmas in the "Musical Advent Calendar".

Behind each door "is a Christmas carol, played or sung by our students."

Free entry excluding Big Choir Concert

Tickets for the large choral concert are available for 15 euros, concessions for 8 euros (up to 18 years of age) in the city's citizens' office, in the music school or at the box office.

Otherwise admission is free.
