Greece will reinstate thousands of health sector employees who had refused to be vaccinated against Covid-19, the Minister of Health announced on Tuesday after a court decision to this effect.

The judgment will be implemented, although in my opinion it is a dangerous decision for public health,
” Health Minister Thanos Plevris told Mega TV.
According to Thanos Plevris, the decision that came into effect a year ago to sideline some 6,500 unvaccinated employees should be reversed from January 1, 2023, and possibly before.

reported in October that more than 2,000 health workers remained unvaccinated, including some 170 doctors.
Greece's highest administrative court, the Council of State, last week called for the measure to be reversed.
More than 5.3 million cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in Greece since the start of the pandemic.
More than 34,000 deaths have been attributed to the coronavirus, according to the Ministry of Health.
