It's almost time to open the first box of the Advent calendar and, in a few weeks, to discover your gifts at the foot of the tree.

In the meantime, and while the Christmas market has returned to the Tuileries garden (I) for ten days, the City of Paris is launching its "enchanted month" with a series of free events.

From Friday, illuminations and games for children will be offered to Parisians and tourists in the heart of the Christmas village installed on the forecourt of the Hôtel de Ville (IVe).

"For this edition, the City of Paris has imagined an enchanting and magical universe for the holidays with an enchanted forest", indicates the municipality.

At the heart of it, the little ones can enjoy the carousel, open every day until January 1, 2023. A toboggan run will also be accessible to 6 years old and over (for a single child) and 3 years old and over ( for accompanied children), as well as a climbing wall.

Several illuminated districts

Meetings with Santa Claus are also planned throughout the month of December while four chalets "will offer small regional and international catering" and six others "will allow visitors to discover and buy the products of several craftsmen of the label.

The City also specifies that it participates “in the projects of trade associations by allocating nearly 650,000 euros in subsidies for their end-of-year illuminations”.

After the Champs-Élysées (VIIIth), it's the community's turn to inaugurate its illuminations equipped with low-consumption LEDs.

The City is planning light projections on the facade of the Hôtel de Ville as well as in different districts of the capital, such as rue Saint-Blaise (20th century) or the square Saint-Bernard-Saïd-Bouziri (18th century).

“These will be turned off at 11:45 p.m.” for the sake of energy sobriety.

For the less patient, a virtual Advent calendar will allow you to win, from December 1st until December 24th, one gift per day.
