(ANSA) - ROME, NOVEMBER 29 - The Invalsi tests will once again be an admission requirement for carrying out the tertiary and high school exams.

At least this is evident from a letter from the president of Invalsi, Roberto Ricci, sent in recent days to schools for the start of the surveys of the Invalsi tests.

"The conduct of the INVALSI 2023 tests constitutes a requirement for admission to the final state exam of the first cycle of education and a requirement for admission to the final state exam of the second cycle", writes the president of INVALSI.

Last year and the year before, the Invalsi tests and the school-work alternation were not a requirement for access to the high school diploma.

The news alarmed the students and sparked their protest.

"Despite the numerous protests last year, for a less notionistic, frontal and performative state exam - declares Bianca Chiesa, national coordinator of the student union - the minister continues on the path of disintermediation with students, making the tests mandatory for access on the exam.

It also convenes the Forum of the most representative Student Associations (Fast) after having already decided that the modalities of the high school diploma and the obligatory nature of the tests are established.

We don't just want to be listened to, we claim a school designed by students for students: our proposal is clear and developed on 5 pillars according to the national school manifesto drawn up at the General States of the school last February." "The established tests are a tool for evaluating students by dividing them into areas, as if they were numbers to check and examine - says Alice Beccari, from the Students' Union - All this through questions made of mere notions incapable of turning into a useful tool for growth and training for students.

Again students are not listened to on decisions that affect their education and their future." "We want the exclusion of PCTOs as a requirement and subject of the exam.

We want an exam that provides the students with the tools and an overall critical elaboration of their study path, through an oral test with a term paper prepared by the students.

We want free and non-exclusive schools and knowledge, a source of emancipation and not dinotionalism" concludes Chiesa. (ANSA).
