"An approximately 50-year-old man who was sitting in the stalls suddenly became queasy, then he collapsed," Mario Barth's press spokesman Andreas Sucker describes the situation to the newspaper.

All in all, the emergency interrupted the show for 20 minutes – but when the frightening operation is over, it becomes clear: the lighthearted jokes cannot go on under any circumstances.
"The organizer and Mario Barth then jointly decided to cancel the show," Sucker continues: "The situation was too serious, it just wouldn't have been possible to continue unmolested." A commendable step – despite Mario Barth's supposed behavior during the incident more likely to cause a shake of the head.
How much does an ambulance call cost?
Of course, the health of the person concerned is the top priority, but there are also high costs associated with an emergency doctor's visit.
The use of emergency doctor and ambulance can amount to 300 to 500 euros.
If you are privately insured, you will of course get a full refund of this price, while those with statutory health insurance will only have to pay a fee of 10 euros.
In other countries, however, this amount is much higher.
For example, in the United States, people without health insurance are billed up to $1,200 for an ambulance ride.

"Extremely irritated": Mario Barth comments on the use of the emergency doctor from the stage
Instead of simply interrupting his performance, as is actually the case in emergencies during large stage shows, Mario Barth is said to have commented on the events on stage, according to the fire brigade. "We are extremely irritated by this," a spokesman for the Bochum fire brigade told
ruhrnachrichten.de
.
The fact that the comedy legend got involved in the events in this way was "extremely unusual" - especially in view of the ongoing debate about patient protection and gaffers, the spokesman makes clear.
A request from
tz.de
to Mario Barth for a statement went unanswered.

"How can you come in with such arrogance?": Mario Barth sharply criticizes paramedics
Although the fire brigade criticized Mario Barth's behavior, the situation is said to have been somewhat different in reality.
Eyewitnesses
reported to
bild.de about the emergency during the Bochum performance.
The paramedic came "after just under four minutes calmly into the room".
Barth then complained to the helpers: "How can you come in so calmly and with arrogance?
We have an emergency here!” describes a viewer to the newspaper the sharp reaction of the comedian.
In fact, it sounds as if Mario Barth only commented on the paramedics' late arrival.
"The fire brigade may have helped at some point, but with a significant delay and not immediately - and Mr. Barth commented on this fact on stage.
The audience supported it,” another viewer describes the events of the evening.
There is always a lot going on at the live events of Mario Barth's comedy colleagues.
Most recently, a woman is said to have left the hall after insulting Oliver Pocher.
