50 people will soon be moving into the Sparkasse hall in Ebersberg.

It was rebuilt for the refugees.

A visit.

Ebersberg

– A total of 52 beds including the associated lockers are now located where the district council usually holds its meetings.

According to the district office, around 50 men who have fled from Syria and Yemen are to move into the Ebersberg savings bank hall on Wednesday morning, November 30, which has been converted by a specialist team into refugee accommodation since last Thursday.

"It was a lot of work," says Marion Wolinski, department head of the social welfare administration in the district office.

In addition to a bedroom, the refugees also have a lounge with benches, tables and sockets, the toilets in the house and two shower containers in the garden of the Sparkasse building.

“A play corner would be possible for children,” says Wolinski during a short tour.

The showers are housed in outdoor containers.

Four security guards are to ensure security at the entrance, and a catering company will serve the food.

However, the converted savings bank hall is not intended to become permanent accommodation: "Our goal is to find connecting accommodation for the refugees as quickly as possible," explains the head of the department.

Because when and at what rhythm the next buses with refugees will head for the district town is still uncertain.

"I hope that we will be informed in the next few days," says Wolinski.

The district administrator had recently warned that the Ebersberg district was at its limit with its intake capacities, but that he wanted to prevent school gymnasiums from being occupied at all costs.
