Iran threatened with "imprisonment and torture" the families of the national team players, if they do not "behave properly" before the game against the United States today (Tuesday) - CNN reported, according to information from an official involved in the security of the games.

According to the source, after the players' refusal to sing the anthem before the first match in the World Cup, against England, they were approached by members of the Revolutionary Guards with a request to arrange a meeting, during which they threatened to use "means of violence and torture" against their family members, if they did not sing the anthem.

Before the second game, against Wales, in which Iran won 0-2, the players sang the national anthem.
