Serious accident on B21: car tilts onto the roof and slides into the truck – driver flew to the clinic

A Kia driver was seriously injured in an accident on the B21.
His car overturned and then slid into an oncoming truck.
Schneizlreuth/Ristfeucht - An accident on the B21 between Unterjettenberg and Ulrichsholz ended with serious injuries for a 58-year-old car driver, as reported by the Bad Reichenhall police and the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK).
Accordingly, a truck was also involved in the incident on Tuesday afternoon around 12.30 p.m.
According to initial findings, the Kia of the Tyrolean from the Kitzbühel area left the road to the right for an unknown reason, drove up the embankment and the stone retaining wall at an angle and tipped back onto the asphalt.
There the vehicle, lying on its roof, slid on and collided with the left front of an oncoming MAN semi-trailer truck from the Kufstein region.
Eventually the vehicle stopped on the left side.

Together with other road users, the 54-year-old trucker provided first aid to the casualty.
An emergency call was made to the Traunstein control center.
The Schneizlreuth and Weißbach volunteer fire brigades with a total of 16 emergency services and the Red Cross, including an emergency doctor, were deployed from Bad Reichenhall.
The Salzburg emergency doctor helicopter “Christopherus 6” also flew in.
After treatment by rescue workers on site, the seriously injured man was transported by helicopter to the emergency hospital in Salzburg.
According to the police, the trucker was only slightly injured, according to the BRK, he escaped with a fright.

In addition to the badly damaged Kia, the truck also had to be towed away.
The public prosecutor's office in Traunstein commissioned an expert opinion on the course of the accident.
According to the BRK, the passage through the Kleines Deutsches Eck in the Salzburg Pinzgau was blocked until 4:45 p.m., and there were kilometers of traffic jams in both directions.
Since the alternative route via the B305 at Weinkaser and the state road 2101 at Lake Thumsee is currently closed due to the Antoniberg construction site, the accident site could only be avoided on a very large scale.
