Starting to install GPS devices within public transportation in Tartous

Tartous, SANA- Tartous governorate started installing GPS tracking devices within the public transportation operating in the city of Tartous.

Tartous Governorate has started installing GPS tracking devices within the public transportation operating in the city of Tartous, in order to control its operation on the lines specified for it.

The Deputy Head of the Executive Office, Judge Hassan Naous, said in a statement to reporters from the launch center after installing the first device on a transportation vehicle that this step came as a result of a study of the transportation situation in the governorate to control the transportation movement of vehicles in order to prevent leakage.

Naous pointed out that the tracking device monitors the movement of the transportation vehicle from the beginning of the line to its end, the number of trips it makes, and thus determines the amount of fuel needed by the vehicle based on the distance, in a way that achieves justice in distribution and securing the transportation of citizens.

Naous indicated that the route of Tartous-Dawir al-Sheikh Saad is the first line on which the tracking system was launched, and there are four other lines ready to operate soon until the work of this system is implemented on all lines in the governorate, adding: This matter will have a positive impact and effectiveness on the ground.

In turn, the director of transportation in the governorate, Eng. Nidal Barakat, pointed out that the importance of this step lies in achieving justice in the distribution of fuel, and for each vehicle to obtain the amount allocated to it based on the distance it travels without the intervention of the human element, since the monitoring is electronic, which will reflect positively on everyone.
