The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the Cosmos 2564 satellite, which was launched by the “Soyuz 2.1B” transport rocket yesterday from Plesetsk Cosmodrome, has been placed in its specified orbit.
A statement from the ministry, reported by Russia Today, said: “The satellite was placed in its specified orbit by the accelerator unit “Frigat” at the scheduled time, and it became under the management of the ground centers of the space forces,” explaining that communication with it has become good, and all its devices are operating normally.
The statement indicated that the officers of the Main Center for Space Intelligence of the Russian Aerospace Forces included information about the satellite (Cosmos 2564) in the main catalog of space objects of the Russian space monitoring system after it was put into orbit.
