A mother-daughter team wants to go on vacation.

But then they are stopped at the security check and searched for 30 minutes.

The reason is the daughter's suitcase, which shows suspicious traces.

Zoe Hoyle and her daughter were actually looking forward to their trip to Istanbul.

Excited, the Brits drive to London Heathrow to board their flight.

The excited mom is filming everything on her phone - she certainly didn't expect what happened next.

First you can see in the video how her daughter smiles happily at the camera and waves, she has her suitcase in her other hand.

In the next scene she is standing at the security check and is being checked from top to bottom by several officers.

At the security check: used suitcase tested positive for explosives

Hoyle is shocked because the reason is that he apparently tested positive for explosives.

The mother wrote: "Please note, never buy a suitcase from a charity shop.

My daughter was stopped and searched after luggage showed evidence of explosive material used to make bombs.”

After all, they are said to have had to wait 30 minutes and endure further examinations before they could finally move on.

Ultimately, mother and daughter still caught their flight.

It was something with his bag that we bought in the UK before we went.

    I was so scared."

  • "Fun fact.

A lot of moisturizers and sunscreens test positive for explosives, has happened to me before and security told me it was my sunscreen.”

  • "My hand luggage too.

Turns out it was the acrylic powder for my fingernails.”

  • "Oh, that's happened to me with a brand new suitcase."

  • "No, it's their machines.

They've done that to me before with a bag I've used 100 times.”

Airports are switching to new technology: security checks will soon be easier

However, the security check will soon be a lot easier.

Many airports in Great Britain want to allow you to take drinks and the like on the plane again.

This lifts the ban on carrying only 100 milliliters of liquid in hand luggage.

This also applies, for example, to make-up, sunscreen and other solutions of any quantity and size, which should then no longer be checked.

Instead, luggage is sent through special computer tomography devices at the security checkpoint, which enable the security guards to x-ray the suitcases using a 3D image.

The first tests have been successful, which is why the new technology is to be rolled out at Heathrow by mid-2024.
