Whether it's lectures on the topic of energy prices or events at schools: the city tries to get in touch with the citizens when it comes to climate protection offers.

That works rather clumsily.

Germering – The large district town is quite active when it comes to the climate.

However, some offers did not meet with the expected initiative from the population.

Pascal Luginger recently took stock of this at the meeting of the Environment and Urban Development Committee.

He has been the city's climate protection officer for almost two years.

Only sense of achievement

As Luginger reported, the climate protection department had not only asked the local associations about cooperation with the city.

For the same reason, he had also contacted the adult education center and all general schools in the city area.

"Unfortunately, without any significant feedback," as he had to report to the members of the committee.

The only sense of achievement Luginger recorded in this regard was accompanying a practical seminar on “Climate Balance in a School” at the Carl-Spitzweg-Gymnasium.

Just a visitor

Even more depressing from the point of view of the climate protection officer was a lecture on the topic "High energy prices - what can I do about it?".

There was only one visitor to the event, which was organized in the town hall together with the Bavarian Consumer Advice Centre, so the presentation had to be cancelled.

Although there was another event in the town hall at the same time, Luginger was surprised: “I would have expected more given the number of inhabitants in the city and the excitement about the high energy prices.”

FFB newsletter.)

The climate protection officer admitted that he had organized this event without pre-registration.

He had relatively generous seating in one of the lecture rooms.

However, the city's environmental expert has learned his lessons from it.

"Next time I'll definitely plan with advance notice."

Games meeting but the hit

An open game meeting, on the other hand, proved to be a real hit.

It belongs to the monthly repertoire of the city library.

But Luginger took the opportunity to put on games on the subject of climate protection there.

Luginger was almost enthusiastic: "35 participants and everyone had fun." Therefore, this campaign will definitely be repeated.

Luginger is currently also busy revising the "Energy Consulting" funding pot.

The aim should be to be able to advise interested parties more quickly and, above all, precisely.

In this context, Germeringer also wants to examine the possibility of introducing a solar cadastre.

This makes it possible to make an initial assessment of where solar energy can still be used profitably.

Among other things, Luginger wants to exchange views with Komm Energie, which operates in Eichenau, Gröbenzell and Puchheim.

"The solar cadastre and the subsidy pot must be brought to the people more," emphasized Luginger.
