The Agenda21 groups in the city of Freising are venting their anger: In their eyes, many things are not going as they should.

The city promises solutions.

Freising

– Sepp Beck, member of the Agenda21 group "Energy and Climate Protection" was at a loss at the most recent meeting of the Agenda21 and Social Advisory Board on Monday.

"I just don't understand why everything in Freising has to take so long." And Beck wasn't the only one who expressed his displeasure.

Group does not feel taken seriously

Actually, the speakers of the Agenda21 groups only wanted to issue a water level report.

However, Kerstin Schulz, one of the spokespersons for the “People with Disabilities” group, wanted to get rid of a few things.

"We are constantly ignored, for example when it comes to the issue of disabled toilets at the train station." Which also annoys her: "Some disabled parking spaces have suddenly been limited to two hours.

During this time, however, we cannot, for example, visit a doctor.” According to Schulz, there is also a clear need for improvement in the city center.

“The construction sites are not adequately secured.

It's no fun when a blind person falls into the Moosach, is it?" The group doesn't feel that the city takes it seriously.

"We'll quickly ask the responsible authority what's going on there," promised Eva Bönig, head of the advisory board.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Sepp Beck also wanted a quick solution, which is why he put an urgent follow-up application on the table for the immediate implementation of the solar obligation on all suitable roofs in Freising.

His problem: “We already submitted a solar obligation application on February 15th.

But I haven't heard anything since then." His fear: "It always takes so long until it's too late."

Agenda21 coordinator Johanna Sticksel was able to shed some light: "I received feedback from the climate protection manager that almost all points in the application had already been processed." departments would at times get a bit stuck for reasons that are still unknown.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Beck got a tip from the architect Bernd Kerscher: he should write about a solar statute in the application instead of a solar obligation.

In order to state once again how important the topic is in times of energy shortages, the emergency motion was unanimously approved.

"Tisch füreinander" finally wants to introduce the social pass

According to the agenda group "Table for Each Other", it is urgent that the cathedral city finally takes care of a so-called social pass.

While the city had been chosen as the contact person at the first attempt, it turned out on Monday that the district should be held responsible - among other things because only the district can issue the pass, while the municipalities are looking for benefits for social weaker people to take care of.

With such a pass, people should get the benefits that they are entitled to anyway – without always having to present all the documents.

For the group “Tisch füreinander” those affected could avoid stigmatization in this way.

However, the application could not be decided – because the district is responsible.

Only for a declaration of intent did all hands go up.

At the same time, the applications of the groups reflected what is on the agenda of the Agenda21 and Social Advisory Board for 2023: such as the continuation of the "Freising Prize for Integration and Against Racism" by the Migration Council.

Next autumn, the groups also want to bring the traveling exhibition "Paths into the future for you and the world" to Freising, while the Fair Forum wants to focus more on the current five Fairtrade schools.
