The protest in Iran never ceases to surprise:
thousands came out tonight (Wednesday morning) throughout Iran to celebrate the defeat of the national team of the Islamic Republic to the United States team in the World Cup games in Qatar.
Videos posted on social media showed young people dancing in the streets of Mehabad, the largest city in Iran's Kurdish region, chanting slogans against the regime and in favor of the United States.
In the city of Skaz, where the young woman Mahasa Amini was murdered by the regime's men, an act of cruelty that ignited the protest against religious coercion in Iran, residents set off fireworks and played loud music to mark the team's defeat.
Iran is a country where people are very passionate about football.
Now they are out in the streets in the city of Sanandaj & celebrate the loss of their football team against US.

In the Saadat-Abad district, one of the richest suburbs of the Iranian capital, drivers honked their horns as a sign of joy and played music for passers-by.
In the city of Mashhad, a religious center and the country's second largest city, a man was recorded walking down the street wearing a United States team shirt.
According to some reports, the man was detained for questioning.
