Syrian Ambassador to Belarus Muhammad al-Amrani, during his meeting with the Director of the General Department for Asia, Africa and Latin America at the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Igor Bely, delivered a message of condolence from President Bashar al-Assad to Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, on the death of Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei.
During the meeting, Ambassador Al-Omrani offered his warmest condolences and sincere sympathy on behalf of the Syrian government to the Belarusian government, and to the family and friends of the deceased and his colleagues in the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, noting that the late Minister Mackie was an experienced diplomat and a loyal friend of Syria, and made great efforts to improve the friendship relations between the two countries.
For his part, Pelly expressed Belarus' thanks and appreciation for the message of condolence sent by President al-Assad to his Belarusian counterpart, and the message also received from the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal al-Miqdad, noting the merits of the late minister and his role in Belarusian diplomacy and the depth of friendship between the two countries.
Ambassador Al-Omrani participated in the funeral ceremony of Minister Mackie, which was organized by the Belarusian authorities at the Central Officers' House in the capital, Minsk, and wrote a word in the condolence register at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, offering his warmest condolences, on behalf of Syria, to the friendly Belarusian people and to the family and friends of the deceased.
