Berlin – Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht (both SPD) will explain Germany's future course at the Berlin Security Conference today (30 November).
Lambrecht will speak about the military turning point with which Germany wants to enter a new era of security in Europe.
Numerous high-ranking representatives from politics and the armed forces of allied and friendly states will be speaking at the conference until Thursday (December 1).
The organizers describe the meeting as the first major conference of this kind since the start of the Ukraine war in February.

As the program says, the "far north" - the defense ministries of Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland - will have their say on Wednesday evening.
Then a possible NATO accession of the latter two states could be discussed or even announced.
