In her statement, Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht first describes the “turning point” that the Ukraine war also initiated in Germany.
The Bundeswehr had become the weapons supplier for Ukraine.
The politician called the effects of the Ukraine conflict on citizens "brutal".

Turkey remains reluctant to ratify accession.

The first findings should already be available from 2:15 p.m. when Federal Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht will talk about “a new era of European security”.
A debate on NATO's strategic concept has been going on for a few minutes, with Minister of State Tobias Lindner (Greens) taking part, among others.

Berlin Security Conference: Sweden and Finland joining NATO
First report from Wednesday, November 30:
Berlin – Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht (both SPD) will explain Germany's future course at the Berlin Security Conference today, Wednesday.
Lambrecht will speak about the military turning point with which Germany wants to enter a new era of security in Europe.
Numerous high-ranking representatives from politics and the armed forces of allied and friendly states will be speaking at the conference until Thursday (December 1).
The organizers describe the meeting as the first major conference of this kind since the start of the Ukraine war in February.

As the program says, the "far north" - the defense ministries of Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland - will have their say on Wednesday evening.
