Biolink stays in Waakirchen.

That much has been clear since May.

Now the temporary solution at the company headquarters was discussed in the building committee.

Waakirchen – The company Biolink with more than 100 employees remains loyal to the Waakirchen location: This news caused joy in May of this year.

The construction of a new production hall and warehouse with offices on the expansion area of the commercial area on Brunnenweg had just begun.

Now the Waakirchner building committee was concerned with the not very attractive provisional at the old company headquarters.

The company will soon be dismantling the office containers approved for the transition.

"This will straighten out the situation a lot," said Mayor Norbert Kerkel (FWG).

Temporary storage tent remains standing for now

A storage tent for shipping materials, also only tolerated as a temporary measure, is to remain in place for a while.

The company had applied for an extension of the license, which expires at the end of the year, to 2025. Cornelia Riepe (Greens) was surprised at the length of the period.

By 2025, the move to the new building should have been completed long ago, she said.

A much earlier move is to be expected, explained the head of the building authority, Christoph Marcher.

He assumes that Biolink wants to secure the maximum possible period of time as a precaution.

It is not yet possible to say whether the tent will really remain standing until the deadline has expired.

Dismantling is part of the permit

It was important to Hans Heiss (We) that the dismantling is secured.

The restoration of the area is part of the approval, assured the head of the building department, Marcher.

With a view to the current development, Rudi Reber (ABV) advocated supporting the application.

His colleagues at the Council table also saw it that way: the approval was unanimous.

Temporary parking spaces may also remain until the end of the period.

Plenty of turbulence around Biolink in recent years

There had been a lot of turbulence beforehand.

The company, manufacturer of adhesive tapes for the aviation, automotive and construction industries, has its headquarters in rented premises from the Rixner company on Brunnenweg.

A large new building was originally planned for the neighboring area, which is why the municipality of Waakirchen fought for a generous expansion of the commercial area in 2015.

Around the same time, the company surprisingly announced that it would be relocating to Bad Tölz.

But here, too, the announcement remained.

Company stays in Waakirchen

When the French group Saint Gobain took over Biolink in July 2017, the cards were reshuffled.

However, whether Biolink will remain at the site was an open question for a long time.

After negotiations that were as long as they were difficult, the company announced its plans for the future in May – which are positive for the community: Biolink will remain the leaseholder of the Rixner building and will also construct a new building, which will be significantly smaller than originally planned.

There is now space for 14 companies in the commercial area.
