China has not been able to get out of “zero Covid” and is exposed to more than 1 million deaths

In March 2020, the whole world is confined.

At the same time, China announces that it will emerge triumphant from the Covid-19 crisis thanks to its zero tolerance for Sars-CoV-2.

In the months that followed and as the pandemic waves rolled in, the death toll remained relatively low in the country where the virus originated.

But for several months, the situation has been reversed.

The world has returned to freedom, and, if the virus is still circulating, it no longer imposes the same constraints on our lives.

However, in China, the current wave is generating a very strong reaction.

The country is increasing confinements to the point of arousing strong reactions in a Chinese society that is nevertheless unaccustomed to public protests.
