The controversial Saurüsselalm is still in the public eye.
The area below the mountain inn now served as the setting for a large-scale exercise.
Bad Wiessee - It was assumed that there was a wildfire in the evening in the remote area.
"It was immediately clear: the registration screen poses particular challenges for the team and the equipment," says a press release on the exercise.
Not only the approach via forest roads, but also logistics and water extraction on site are not an easy task.
Almost 500 meters of hose were needed to pump the water from the creek to the fire engines and to fight the fire with a centrifugal pump.

Stuck and Stake Injury: Another mid-exercise scenario
While this mission was still in full swing, another scenario was announced by the trainers.
This time it was about technical assistance.
The alarm: bicycle accident with a forest vehicle, two injured, one of them trapped, one with a pole injury.
Immediately, part of the task force was assigned to rescue patients and the BRK was dispatched to provide care.
In addition, a landing pad for two fictitious requested helicopters had to be set up and illuminated.
Emergency services rehearse emergencies in the Saurüsselalm area: the risk of forest fires is also an issue
"Operations in remote areas are a great challenge," the Wiesseer commander Korbinian Herzinger is quoted as saying.
Equipment would be used here that might not be needed in town – where, for example, hydrants are available.
"This," says Herzinger, "shows the importance of such exercises."
His colleague from the Kreuth fire brigade, Benedikt Wurm, adds: “Dry summers like the last one bring a high risk of forest fires.” Such scenarios therefore have to be practiced.
After around two hours of practice, the around 70 task forces had a snack.
