The Lunchang murder case occurred in Ngau Tau Kok Upper Village.
At 4:30 p.m., a nurse from United Hospital went to a unit in Changrong Building to visit a 25-year-old male patient surnamed Huang.
The firemen arrived at the scene to assist in breaking the door. After entering the house, they found a 50-year-old woman unconscious on the bed with scars on her neck. A man surnamed Huang was also in the house. The two were mother and child.
Paramedics rushed to the rescue but confirmed that the woman had died at the scene.
After investigation, the police classified the case as "murder" for follow-up. The deceased's 25-year-old son was arrested in connection with the case. He was conscious and sent to the United Hospital. The case was handed over to the second team of the Serious Crime Squad of the Sau Mau Ping Police District to take over the investigation.
According to sources, the dead woman, surnamed Lu, was 50 years old and had been dead for two to three days. It was initially believed to have been caused by suffocation.
It is understood that the male suspect has a history of mental illness and has violent tendencies, and needs regular follow-up visits.
