With a kind of warming room, the municipality of Neubiberg wants to help people who are suffering particularly from the sharp rise in electricity and gas prices and are forced to save energy drastically in order to cover the costs.
Neubiberg
- The community library at Rathausplatz 8 and the senior center at Hauptstraße 12 in Neubiberg are open to anyone who is too uncomfortable at home this winter.
The library's offerings are not only available to readers who are registered there.
Every guest can leaf through the daily newspaper or a magazine in the reading corner and enjoy a cup of Fairtrade coffee from the machine for 50 cents.
A hot cup of tea is free.
Use of the WiFi is also free of charge.
A visit is possible at any time during opening hours: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Senior center is open to those affected
The senior citizens' meeting place of the municipality also offers an open space in the cold season from now on.
In the heated function room on the upper floor of the senior center, older people can meet casually to chat, read the newspaper or listen to music, play games and have a hot cup of coffee or tea to warm up.
The open meeting is open from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays also in the afternoon between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
