Mittenwald / B2 - The federal police arrested an Italian on Tuesday (November 29) on the B2 near Mittenwald.
The man wanted by the Munich public prosecutor's office since 2021 was traveling in a coach from Italy.
Instead of continuing to Munich as planned, he has to go to prison for three months.
As part of the border controls, the federal police officers checked the personal details of the occupants of a coach that had started in Bologna.
The police computer sounded the alarm for an Italian national.
As it turned out, there was a warrant out for his arrest.
Accordingly, the district court in Dachau had imposed a fine of 2,700 euros because the man had obtained a fake driver's license during a previous stay in Germany.
The 49-year-old was unable to pay the amount demanded.
Therefore, he had no choice but to start the court-ordered replacement prison sentence of 90 days.
The federal police took him to the Garmisch-Partenkirchen prison on the day of his arrest.
