The "Islamic State" (ISIS) organization announced today (Wednesday) that its leader Abu Hassan al-Hashmi al-Qureshi was killed in the fighting.
In an audio tape published on the terrorist organization's Telegram channel, it was stated that the fourth leader of the Abu organization would be Hussein al-Husseini al-Qureshi.
In February, Abu Ibrahim al-Hashmi, the successor of ISIS founder Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, was killed in a raid by American forces in northern Syria.
The two successors of al-Baghdadi, who was himself eliminated by the United States in Syria in 2019, failed to restore the organization that lost all the territories it previously controlled in Syria and Iraq.
The last leader apparently used a fake name, and his picture was never published.
