The Kassel climate activist Carl-Christian Porsch stuck himself in the Elbphilharmonie.

The Last Generation's action became a joke.

However, professional activist Porsche continues.

Hamburg/Kassel – For Carl-Christian Porsch, the campaign that made people laugh at him on the internet was a complete success.

A week ago, the climate activist from Kassel and another member of the last generation glued themselves to the conductor's podium at Hamburg's Elbphilharmonie.

As hna.de reports, the disruptive action in the full concert hall lasted only a few minutes because an employee of the orchestra released the railing from the podium and carried the activists outside in their high-visibility vests.

The Saxon State Orchestra appeared only a little late.

A video made the rounds.

The "Bild" wrote: "Demo dilettantes embarrass themselves with idiot action in the Elphi."

Professional activist from Kassel says: last-generation protest in the Elbphilharmonie was worth it

Nevertheless, Porsche thinks that the evening was worth it.

His colleague had shouted that there would be no Elbphilharmonie if Hamburg was under water.

That was lost in the boos.

But Porsch says: "We have found a stage for our concern." The Elbphilharmonie refrained from reporting.

There was only one dismissal.

However, a member of the orchestra's staff pulled the railings out of the dais and made sure the protesters were taken out.

Such actions are absolutely necessary for the 21-year-old from northern Hesse: "Our survival is at stake.

That's why we have to go into all areas, regardless of whether it bothers people.” Porsch comes from near Gera and moved to Kassel two years ago to train as a social assistant.

In the summer of 2021, he became aware of the Last Generation when activists in Berlin went on hunger strike to reach a conversation with the three chancellor candidates about the "murder of the young generation".

Porsch has been involved in the seven-strong Kassel local group since January.

He's stuck himself on the streets several times.

He broke off his training as an educator at the Rudolf Steiner Institute three weeks ago in order to devote himself entirely to the last generation, as he says: "I'm a professional activist now." It's all financed by donations.

The commitment of Porsche and his fellow campaigners met with great rejection from the population.

According to surveys, 86 percent believe that the activists are harming the cause of climate protection.

Porsche sees it differently.

So far, all efforts to reach the 1.5 degree target have failed.

With the actions, the federal government would be put under pressure, the activists can give interviews.

So we, too, were taken in by the adhesive protesters with this article.

However, for weeks there has been less talk about climate protection than about forms of protest.

In Berlin, a cyclist died after being run over by a truck when a road was blocked.

It is unclear whether the rescue vehicle was late because of the last generation.

Porsch assures that they do their best to form a rescue lane in the event of road blockages.

At least two activists were not glued.

Of course, he cannot rule out the possibility that a traffic jam will have serious consequences.

Before works of art are thrown at museums with mashed potatoes, it is checked whether anything can be damaged.

It will only be thrown if the pictures are protected with a pane of glass.

Nevertheless, a historical frame has already been damaged.

Porsch doesn't think that's cool either, but: "What's the frame worth if we don't have anything left to eat?

These are sacrifices we must make.”

Last generation: Activist from Kassel sees comparison as "excessive trivialization" of RAF crimes

Not only the Springer press and CDU politicians are now warning of a "climate RAF".

The political scientist Tadzio Müller, himself an activist, believes it is possible that a "green RAF" will form.

Porsch finds this absurd: "The fact that we are portrayed as the RAF is an excessive trivialization of what happened back then." And he assures that he would not take part in any action that would harm anyone: "The last generation will never become violent support."

However, he too could end up in prison.

In Bavaria, activists were detained for almost three weeks as a preventive measure - without there having been a criminal offense.

For the legal expert Heribert Prantl ("Süddeutsche Zeitung") this is "unbearable".

Apparently, not only climate protectionists are becoming radicalized, but also the judiciary and politics.

Porsch still wants to continue: "My dad was shocked when I interrupted my training." He couldn't understand the forms of action.

In the meantime, however, he has his back.

"I know that I can rely on him," says Porsch.
