Bad Tölz –

When the Tölz city council will soon be discussing the 2023 budget, the topic of lighting in the city museum will also be discussed.

At the most recent meeting of the finance committee, spa director Brita Hohenreiter, who is responsible for the museum, requested modernization.

When the permanent exhibition was redesigned, the lighting concept was already switched to energy-saving LED lighting.

However, there are still areas in the historic building that only have an old lighting system.

Funding of up to 30 percent possible

With the estimated gross costs of 170,000 euros, 73,000 euros are allotted to the community hall on the ground floor alone.

Work is also required in the gallery, in the exit area, in the stairwell and on the first floor (north side).

A subsidy of 15 to 30 percent is expected.

Josef Steigenberger (CSU) advocated the package of measures.

You can do a lot with motion detectors and smart technology.

The amount of money does not surprise him either.

"But we can save that in a few years," said Steigenberger.

LED technology more economical

As a matter of fact.

Brita Hohenreiter calculated that the museum consumed 56,000 kilowatt hours before the redesign.

In 2018 it was already 45,000 and in 2021 only 32,000 kilowatt hours.

"Of course, there were also lockdown times." With full operation like in 2022, she expects 38,000 to 40,000 kilowatt hours.

With the upcoming electricity price increases, a switch to economical LED technology will definitely pay off.

"Why is the Bürgersaal so expensive?" Peter von der Wippel (FWG) wanted to know.

According to museum director Elisabeth Hinterstocker, the oldest technology in the house is installed in the room.

It has to be rewired.

The support systems for the lighting would also have to be renewed.

Bärbel Weixner (Greens) advocated taking all measures as a whole.

Otherwise it will only get more expensive.

The Finance Committee agreed in principle.
