After a new speaker of the Knesset is appointed on behalf of the Likud, the coalition intends to launch a legislative blitz even before the government is sworn in, and on the agenda: the law that will qualify the appointment of Deri, the powers for Itamar Ben Gabir, and possibly also the repeal of the law that would allow for a split within the Likud.

The Knesset assesses that if the coalition's request to replace The speaker of the Knesset will be submitted by Thursday, the appointment of a new speaker will take effect next Monday with the opening of the plenary session at 16:00. After that, the committees and the plenary session will promote the change in the basic law: the government initiated by MK Moshe Arbel of Shas , a proposal that would pave the way for the appointment of the chairman of his party to the position of minister, despite the fact that he was convicted of tax offenses as part of a plea agreement against him.

The law should be passed in four readings, preliminary, first, second and third, and it is possible that its enactment will last a week.

At the same time, legislation will also be promoted that will grant Ben Gabir powers as Minister of National Security in the next government, in accordance with the agreement he signed with the Likud.

This is about changing the Police Ordinance Law that will give him powers over the Commissioner and the Israel Police in the same way that the Minister of Defense has over the Chief of Staff and the IDF, with the exception of ongoing police investigations.

In addition to these two laws, Likud is also considering promoting the repeal of the law that would allow the splitting of four MKs from a party into a separate faction. This is a law that was led by Gideon Sa'ar in the previous government, this is to allow for a situation in which members of Knesset in Likud will want to defect to the outgoing government. The law was approved, but such a move It never happened, and now, in light of criticism from certain MKs such as David Bitan on the conduct of the negotiations and the apparent division of cases - Likud wants to prevent a situation where there would be a possibility of a split, even before the inauguration, but a final decision on the timing of the legislation has not yet been made.

In Torah Judaism, they still refrain from handing over the signatures required to appoint a Knesset speaker. The party is angry with the Likud, alleging unfair conduct regarding the distribution of files and the promotion of principled issues for the party. The teams did not meet today for negotiations, and thus no meeting has been scheduled for tomorrow.

The main efforts of Netanyahu and Levin's opponent are now focused on talks with the chairman of religious Zionism, Bezalel Smotrich, who is on the verge of signing an agreement with the Likud.
